INFORMATION REGARDING THE SPECIES OF WEATHER BEATEN,
SOLEVAL,
PLEUVAL,
VENTEVAL,
NEIGEVAL,
NOTES,
Welcome to the Species Information thread of Weather Beaten, brought to you by Belun, your friendly Co-Administrator. I'm here to fill you in on each of the four species that riddle the planet.
In many ways, they're all the same, yet they also have the capacity to be completely different. The equines are as contrasting as black and white, and as opposite as the North and South poles, so I'm here to give you more information about them and 'wise you up' on them.
I'll start in no particular order, and the first fact file can be found just below, if you'd care to direct your attention to there.
SOLEVAL,
Nickname: Sun Horses.[/i], mainly for her mixed heritage and the fact that some Soleval resent the fact she is not of pure blood (like they are).[/blockquote]
Scientific Name: Solis Equus.
Colours: Soleval generally come in three main colours: red, yellow and orange. If one found them on Earth, they would generally resemble Clydesdales and Shires, and are commonly referred to as the giants of the world they live in.
All Soleval have blue eyes because it's their dominant eye colour, but there's no way of predicting the exact colour of a Soleval's offspring. Because of the three different dominant colours present in the species, foals of these horses can have varying tints to their main colour.
For example, one foal could grow up to have a red coat, yet it could also be tinted with yellow because its mother's coat was red and its father's coat was yellow.
Height: Anywhere from 16 hands to 18+ hands high. However, it should be noted that Soleval rarely exceed 19 hands high.

PLEUVAL,
Nickname: Rain Horses.
Scientific Name: Pluvia Equus.
Colours: Similar to that of a Mustang in build, Pleuval are stocky horses and are rather robust in appearance. That being said, their colours reflect this about them and they vary from blue to grey, and even an off-white in colour, hence their nickname 'Rain Horse'.
The colour of a Pleuval's eyes depends to vary from a muddy kind of blue to a clear, penetrating grey, although grey is - generally speaking - the more dominant colour. It has been recorded that some horses have one blue eye and one grey eye, yet this is extremely rare.
Pleuval are also covered in a thin, almost transparent layer of water that can only be seen when the sunlight hits the creature's body. It's their way of staying hydrated, I suppose one could say, albeit, the actual reason for this thin film of water covering every Pleuval's body is generally unknown and widely speculated.
Height: Normally anywhere between 13 hands to 16.2 hands high, although Pleuval never exceed anywhere above 16 hands. The average height for this breed is around 14 hands high.
Notable Leaders: None that have been remembered that well.
VENTEVAL,
Nicknames: Cloud Horses, Sky Horses.
Scientific Name: Divum Equus.
Colours: Resembling a typical Arabian in build and size, Venteval come in what could be considered 'greyscale' colours. The aforementioned colours are grey, black and white, and for every colour, the mane and tail are either black or white, depending on the horse's genetics.
Eye colours in this species are always grey, and the grey coat colour can also be dappled or 'plain grey' as it's often referred to. As for mane and tail colours, it depends on the genes of the parents and whether or not they're homozygous (identical), which would then result in the foal having the same mane and tail colour as its parents.
Height: Anywhere between 14 and 15 hands high, the Venteval are rather small in height, although not as small as their Pleuval cousins. As evolution takes place, Venteval with heights going up to 16 hands high are becoming more common within this species.
Notable Leaders: Horcrux Vervain, the first male leader of the Venteval since the death of the former dictator.
NEIGEVAL,
Nicknames: Snow Horses, Cold Horses.
Scientific Name: Glacies Equus.
Colours: The equivalent of Earth's Icelandic Horse, Neigeval could be described as taller and leaner than the breed I just mentioned, and their colours are a lot more restricted. There are no bays, chestnuts or roans that make any creature within this sub-species unique; in fact, the only colours that you'll ever see with regards to a Neigeval are white, cream and a pale, powder blue.
Like most other species on the planet, the dominant eye colour of the Neigeval is blue, often followed by grey, as is to be expected. Both colours are dominant (although grey is more likely to be the weaker of the two colours), and so it's not unusual for these horses to have one grey eye and one blue eye, unlike other breeds.
Perhaps the most unique thing about th Neigeval are their manes. They aren't 'long and flowing' like the manes of the other species, but stiff and erect in a manner that's more in the style of a Przewalski's Wild Horse than anything else. Often referred to as the 'Neigeval Mohawk,' their manes are what make them stick out more-so than anything else about them.
Height: Anywhere between 14 hands to 16 hands high.
Notable Leaders: Belun Hallbjörn and his 'reckless' methods when it comes to handling issues on behalf of the other Neigeval.
